Wargaming has kicked off World of Tanks' 16th anniversary with a month‑long celebration that includes free in‑game gifts, Twitch Drops, special bundles and a brand‑new Journey event. The festivities also serve as a lead‑in to the major Update 2.4: Overdrive, slated for launch on September 2.
Commanders can claim an anniversary package containing a crew member with three perks, three days of premium account access, a commemorative medal and other useful items. The Journey event sends players across iconic maps to complete daily missions, rewarding exclusive cosmetics and the newly introduced Premium Tier VII Chi‑Go. Players who have been inactive for 60 days or more receive a 30‑day premium account boost and additional bonuses to ease their return to the battlefield.
When Overdrive arrives, it will introduce a new German heavy‑tank line featuring the Shell Calibration System, plus five new Tier XI vehicles from the Czech, Swedish, Italian, Chinese and Japanese arsenals. Light tanks are being rebalanced into Scout, Versatile and Support roles, improving matchmaking and map rotation, while upgraded visual and audio effects aim to make combat feedback clearer.
