EA has confirmed that leaked footage of its upcoming Iron Man game is authentic after a work-in-progress trailer surfaced online on August 29, 2026. The publisher responded on the official X account for Marvel’s Iron Man with a short statement: “Well, that didn’t go as planned. But now you know, and we’ve got a lot more to show you. See you when we’re ready.”
The two-and-a-half-minute clip shows Tony Stark flying through New York, battling enemies both in the air and on the ground, and visiting the S.H.I.E.L.D helicarrier. The footage, labeled “Aug26 Test,” includes unfinished cutscenes, low-resolution textures, and a suit customization system. Stark’s appearance aligns with MCU style, though the model is not based on Robert Downey Jr. The trailer’s placeholder text suggests it may have been intended to launch EA’s marketing campaign.
Marvel’s Iron Man was first announced in 2022, placing it at least four years into development. EA’s statement implies the game remains on track despite recent industry-wide layoffs and the cancellation of its Black Panther title in 2025.
