Valve has opened Steam Machine reservations, but scalpers are already selling them on eBay for more than double the price. The company started allowing buyers to sign up for a random chance to purchase one of its four Steam Machine options earlier this week.
The Steam Machine is priced at $1,049 for its controller-less 512GB model, but eBay listings have popped up with prices ranging from a few hundred dollars more than retail to over double the price.
One listing for the 512GB option with a controller sold for $1,500, a nearly $400 mark-up, while a 2TB model sold for $2,100, a $670 mark-up. Those willing to wait are unsure when Valve will notify them that it's their turn to purchase a Steam Machine at the standard price.
