ArenaNet has announced a new Guild Wars card game called Mistbound, developed in partnership with NC and bilibili. Mistbound aims to give fans a new way to play together, inspired by the card game roots of the franchise.
The game features a dynamic 5x3 tactical grid where units and commanders can move around, making the game more intuitive. Players will be able to exploit mechanics like knockbacks, pulls, and flanking, with familiar Guild Wars characters stepping onto the battlefield as commanders.
There's no release date for Mistbound yet, but it's expected to launch sometime in 2027. The game's development is being guided by direct player input, with the possibility of becoming an esport in the future.
