EA has updated its Online Services Shutdown page to note that the multiplayer servers for Grid Legends will be turned off on September 11. The notice applies to the Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 versions of the game.
Grid Legends, developed by Codemasters and released in February 2022, features a story mode called Driven to Glory with live‑action cutscenes. While the shutdown will end online multiplayer on the listed consoles, the single‑player portions are expected to remain accessible. The announcement does not clarify the impact on the Steam version or other platforms.
The Switch Deluxe Edition, launched in January, appears likely to retain its online features, given that the shutdown only affects the PlayStation and Xbox families. VGC’s own review described the title as a solid but unremarkable racing experience, noting that it “doesn’t do anything particularly wrong, but doesn’t do anything particularly interesting either.” Players on the affected consoles should finish any online activities before the September deadline.
