Citizen Sleeper and its sequel, Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector, are set to release on Nintendo Switch 2 on June 25. The announcement was made by Gareth Damian Martin, creator of Jump Over the Age, during the Story Rich Showcase.
The games will be available as a free upgrade for players who already own the Switch versions. The original Citizen Sleeper was released on Switch in 2022 and received critical acclaim, including a Metacritic score of 82. The sequel, released last year, received even more praise with a Metacritic score of 85.
The games follow the story of a 'sleeper', a digitised human consciousness in an artificial body, as they build friendships and alliances to survive. With their engaging narratives and gameplay, both titles have been nominated for several awards, including Game of the Year and Best Narrative.
