Xbox chief commercial officer Matt Booty told Variety that he has visited Bethesda’s studios, sat with Todd Howard, and seen a playable version of The Elder Scrolls VI. He described the footage as "amazing" and said the project is moving forward on schedule.
Booty explained why the title was absent from this year’s Xbox Showcase, noting that the team prefers to reveal a game only when it can be presented at its best and when the timing feels right. He assured fans that a proper announcement will come when the studio is ready to deliver a clear promise of an upcoming release.

The comments arrive after Bethesda’s 2018 announcement of the sequel and recent statements from Howard that the studio is refocusing on the Elder Scrolls series after the mixed reception of Fallout 76 and Starfield. While no specific launch window was disclosed, Booty’s remarks suggest the game is further along than earlier pre‑alpha glimpses, and a formal reveal is likely on the horizon.
