Wargaming.net rolled out the 2.3.1 "Summer Surge" update for World of Tanks on July 14, with servers offline from 07:30 to 13:00 UTC for maintenance. The downtime cleared the way for a suite of fresh content that launches immediately after the servers return.
Players can now tackle the "Crucible" challenge, a series of single‑battle missions that test skill under strict conditions, and dive into the Far Cry‑inspired Battle Pass Special, which introduces jungle‑themed customizations and the brand‑new M‑VII‑Y heavy tank. The update also revives the "Last Stand" event, pits teams against waves of Echo tanks, and adds a lighter‑weight 7v7 "Onslaught Light" mode without ranking pressure. Meanwhile, the classic 30v30 "Frontline" map returns for Tier VIII battles, featuring larger maps, respawns and combat reserves.

WoT Premium subscribers receive an extra 24 hours of Premium time to compensate for the maintenance window, though the developers advise waiting until the servers are fully operational before making any in‑game purchases.
