Project Sirius, CD Projekt's long‑delayed Witcher spinoff, announced on X that former Bungie senior narrative designer Kwan Perng will serve as the game's lead writer. Perng, who steered Destiny 2's acclaimed final expansion The Final Shape, revealed the appointment on his LinkedIn profile before sharing a brief note on X.
Perng spent four years shaping Destiny 2's post‑launch world and was among the 220 Bungie staff cut in the July 2024 layoffs. He then moved to Eleventh Hour Games, the studio behind Last Epoch, as narrative and world lead. In his X update he said he is “immersing myself in the dark and eclectic universe of The Witcher” and called the opportunity “humbling.”

The hire comes after Project Sirius has endured a rocky development cycle since its October 2022 reveal, including a scrapped and rebooted build and the dissolution of Molasses Flood, the studio CD Projekt acquired in 2021. While details remain scarce, CD Projekt's decision to bring a high‑profile writer on board suggests confidence that the project can still deliver a compelling RPG experience.
