Valve has lifted the price of its handheld Steam Deck, with the 512GB OLED version now listed at $789 USD and the 1TB model at $949 USD. Both figures represent more than a 40 % jump from the previous retail levels.
Before the announcement the 512GB edition sold for $549 and the 1TB for $649, meaning the larger model sees a 46 % increase while the smaller one is up 43 %. The devices have also returned to Steam’s inventory after a period of limited availability. Valve explained the rise on its Steam Community page, saying the hardware itself is unchanged and the new prices reflect higher component costs and global logistics challenges.

The move follows a wave of price hikes across the console market. Nintendo confirmed a price bump for the upcoming Switch 2, Sony raised its PlayStation 5 Pro to $900, and Microsoft’s Xbox Series X and Series S have each climbed by $100‑$150 since launch. Industry data shows the average price of new video‑game hardware in the U.S. jumped from $235 in November 2019 to $439 in November 2025, underscoring growing cost pressures for consumers.
