Spider-Man: Brand New Day director Destin Daniel Cretton has revealed that the movie almost featured a bizarre Marvel supervillain. Paste-Pot Pete, a classic glue-shooting baddie, was planned to appear in the movie's introductory montage.
The character, created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, has a history of tangling with Spider-Man and the Fantastic Four. He shares some similarity to Tom Holland's Spider-Man, with the ability to fire a sticky adhesive, allowing him to shoot ropes and webs, and walk on walls.
Cretton mentioned that the team had fun with the character but ultimately couldn't include him in the final cut. With Tom Holland's future in the Spider-Man franchise seemingly secure, perhaps there's hope for Paste-Pot Pete in a future installment, such as Spider-Man 5.
