Slitherine, known for the Panzer Corps series and Warhammer 40,000 games, has acquired the videogame rights to the Blood Bowl series. The rights were previously held by Nacon, which filed for insolvency in February. Despite the change, developer Cyanide will continue working on the series, including an update to make the videogame compatible with the latest tabletop rules.
The acquisition brings new hope for the series, which has faced challenges with the release of Blood Bowl 3. The game was plagued by bugs, microtransactions, and a live-service push, leading many players to return to Blood Bowl 2 for a smoother experience.

Slitherine's director of publishing, Marco Minoli, expressed respect for Cyanide's work and excitement to support and grow the series with its community. Cyanide's CEO, Patrick Pligersdorffer, also welcomed the partnership, citing Slitherine's expertise in publishing high-quality strategy games.
