Sony Interactive Entertainment announced that Destruction AllStars, the early PS5 exclusive from Lucid Games, will be taken off the PlayStation Store and its multiplayer servers will be shut down. The move also removes the game's virtual currency, effectively ending online play for all users.
Existing owners can still access single‑player content until November 25, after which only the Arcade Mode challenges will remain playable. Sony warned that the server shutdown may affect overall functionality, citing ongoing technical issues as the reason for ending multiplayer services.
Destruction AllStars launched in 2021 to mixed reviews. Initially slated as a $70 launch title, the game was delayed and later offered free to PlayStation Plus subscribers for two months before settling at $19.99. Critics praised its character design but noted a lack of lasting appeal, describing the experience as “clumsy and hollow.”
Players are urged to finish any offline activities before the November deadline, as no further updates or support are planned. Sony thanked the community for its enthusiasm and support throughout the game's lifecycle.
