Director Will Gluck has revealed that he cut out a significant amount of nudity from his new romantic comedy, One Night Only. Gluck believes that modern movie audiences, including Gen Z and Gen Alpha, are now too uncomfortable seeing nudity on screen.
According to Gluck, research has shown a societal shift towards preferring more private and intimate experiences, rather than shared ones. As a result, he removed much of the nudity from the film after test screenings, feeling that it took audiences out of the movie.
The film, starring Monica Barbaro and Callum Turner, is set in a bizarre, alternate reality where premarital sex is forbidden outside of a 12-hour period per year. Gluck's decision to cut the nudity was made to achieve a balance and make the film more enjoyable for audiences.
