Jason Momoa has confirmed a long-term plan for his character Lobo, but with one condition: any solo movie must be rated R. Momoa will debut as Lobo in the upcoming Supergirl film, a role he's wanted to play for many years.
Momoa's demand for an R-rated Lobo movie doesn't seem outlandish, given the success of recent R-rated superhero films like Deadpool and Joker. DC Studios, led by James Gunn, is also making an R-rated DC movie this year with Clayface.
The fate of a Lobo movie remains uncertain, but if it happens, Momoa's insistence on an R-rating suggests it will be violent and explicit. DC Studios' focus on creator-driven projects may work in Momoa's favor, but only time will tell if the right story can be found for a Lobo film.
