Obsession director Curry Barker says Gen Z is hungry for good stories and original films. Following the success of his low-budget horror film, Barker notes that audiences will show up to theaters for quality movies.
Barker, who falls within the Gen Z demographic himself, believes that his age group is tired of rushed or overly produced films and instead wants to see well-crafted stories with good characters.
His next project, Anything But Ghosts, is another original story, and he is also set to work on a Texas Chainsaw Massacre film with A24. While a sequel to Obsession is possible, Barker is not in a rush to make it happen.
