Fallout’s New Vegas director Josh Sawyer has called the TV adaptation an "amazing" take on the franchise, ranking it among the best videogame adaptations he’s encountered.
Speaking in an interview with The 41st Precinct, Sawyer said he enjoyed both seasons as they were released and praised the show’s interpretation of key factions and the post-apocalyptic setting. While acknowledging minor creative differences, he dismissed them as personal preferences, noting that any writer would likely tweak details to fit their vision.
Sawyer also defended changes like the reorientation of the Dinky the Dinosaur landmark, arguing that the scene’s function in the show justified the adjustment. He framed himself as a guest contributor rather than an authority on the adaptation’s direction, reflecting a pragmatic view of the creative process.
