Capcom announced that the new story DLC "Additional Side Story: Rudy" for Monster Hunter Stories 3 is now live across all platforms. The expansion costs $9.99, but players who own the Deluxe or Premium Deluxe editions receive it at no extra charge.
The Rudy DLC delves into the origins of the Royal Felyne lineage, putting the titular character in a strange encounter with Navirou, the legendary Felyne who once saved the world. Along the way, players will face the Elder Dragon Nergigante and other challenging foes, expanding the narrative for longtime fans.
A simultaneous free update adds Royal Monsters to the field and raises the difficulty of the Final Battle. Clearing the Hard version of that battle unlocks Royal Monster variants of nearly every creature, including Invasive Monsters and Calamitous Elder Dragons, offering a tougher experience for seasoned Rangers.
Director Kenji Oguro praised the development team's collaborative spirit, saying the project balanced hard work with enjoyment, a sentiment he believes shines through in the final game.
